This is the area of our site containing the descriptions,
pictures of the exercises and stretches that you may have
been prescribed to perform at home.
Therapeutic
exercises and stretches are an important part of many treatment
plans as they increase muscle strength and coordination, and
enhance flexibility and mobility. Many of the exercises and
stretches can be continued even once active care is finished.
This reduces the likelihood of sustaining new injuries and
minimises the recurrence of previous injuries.
Our
goal here is to provide you with the tools to correctly and
safely complete the exercises and stretches you have been
instructed to perform at home. Each exercise and stretch contains
a full written description of how to perform the movement
along with either a picture or animation to further assist
you in proper and safe form.
Please
do not attempt to formulate your own exercise and stretching
program without our prior approval. While many of these exercises
and stretches are safe and beneficial for the majority of
individuals, they may not be appropriate for your specific
condition and thus should not be performed unless previously
prescribed for your current condition.
